WDRB reports one of the victims was an elderly woman.

Cops arrived, and determined that a male suspect entered the store, and opened fire at a male victim, the chief said.

One person was found dead inside the store, and the other was found outside. The shooter then went to the parking lot, where he shot a woman several times, police said.

Jeffersontown Police Chief Sam Rogers confirmed the deaths at the store.

As police officers swarmed the scene and blocked off the area with yellow crime tape, a man identified by the Louisville Courier Journal as Tim King stood in the parking lot waiting for his wife to come out.

The shooter then exchanged gunfire with a civilian in the parking lot, though neither were injured.

We are shocked and saddened by the shooting incident that occurred around 2:30 pm today.

Eric Deacon, an emergency medical technician who was shopping at the store when gunfire broke out, said he heard a "loud bang". They did not offer any details about a possible motive.

Jeffersontown police on the scene of a reported Kroger's shooting.

Deacon said he saw another man in the store with a gun who appeared to be shooting at the suspect, trying to get him out of the store.

He stated that he ran to help the woman, but realized when he tried to perform CPR on her that it was too late.

Jeffersontown police say the shooting happened at the Kroger on 9080 Taylorsville Road.

Our store is closed and will reopen after the investigation concludes.
