Suspicious package sent to Robert de Niro

In a statement, De Niro's Tribeca Enterprises said the building in the high traffic area of Lower Manhattan will remain open. The building houses the actor-director's Tribeca Productions, the Tribeca Film Festival office, and his Tribeca Grill restaurant. US Postal inspectors are working to locate the package. That package contained a device similar to one recovered from the offices of CNN on Wednesday.

It was found at 4.45am (7.45pm AEDST) and has since been removed by the NY police bomb squad and taken away for testing.

None of the bombs in the other packages detonated, and no one was injured.

"Mainstream Media must clean up its act, FAST!" he added.

The package was intercepted at a DE postal facility.

The package was set to Tribeca which is owned by Robert De Niro.

A CNN panel on Thursday warned that the crisis involving the serial bomber sending explosive devices to critics of President Donald Trump is far from over. Officials say the packaging was similar to the manila envelopes containing bombs sent to CNN, George Soros, and prominent members of the Democratic leadership.

Trump responded by tweeting that he thinks De Niro may have been hit too hard in his past movie roles.

"(Expletive) Trump", he said then. "It's no longer 'Down with Trump, ' it's F- Trump".

Months later, during the Tony Awards in June, De Niro again cursed out Trump while introducing a performance by Bruce Springsteen.

"I watched him last night and truly believe he may be "punch-drunk".

Suspicious packages have been seized in New York, Washington, D.C., Florida and California. Early Thursday morning, law enforcement reportedly intercepted the device.

#MAGABomber trended as users flooded Twitter with accusations that Trump had incited the attempted attacks and highlighting the toxic remarks he has leveled against the pipe bomb targets in the past. At least two of the devices appeared to have been hand-delivered, according to law enforcement officials.

"This is a major concern for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and we don't know where this person is", he explained.

None of the suspect devices have gone off and the FBI are investigating who sent them. Debbie Wasserman Schultz as the Broward County Sheriff's Office bomb squad performs a search in Sunrise, Florida, U.S. October 24, 2018.

Gen. Eric H. Holder Jr., former Central Intelligence Agency director John Brennan, investor George Soros and Rep. Maxine Waters, a Los Angeles Democrat. There is no information to suggest she sent the packages. A spokesman for Holder declined to comment.

CNN is known for its robust coverage of the Trump administration and for constantly provoking the ire of the president, who succeeded Obama and defeated Clinton in 2016.

Officials urge people who see something to say something by calling 1-888-NYC-SAFE. "I unequivocally condemn any and all acts of violence and terror". The packages were affixed with computer-printed address labels and six Forever stamps.

Amid the frenetic pace of the investigation, some alarms turned out to be false.

The latest device was addressed to actor Robert De Niro, according to CNN. Authorities also searched an office building in San Diego that houses a newspaper before concluding there was nothing risky there.

None of the eight devices went off and no injuries were reported, but some top Democrats have called the threats a symptom of a coarsening brand of political rhetoric promoted by President Donald Trump, who also condemned the acts.

Thankfully, there are some trying to remind everyone that indeed, "this is not normal"-even in polarized and vitriolic times like ours, we're still seeing a fraction of the bombings and political violence we saw in the 1970s and other decades prior".
