Woods' home in Woodland Hills was broken into Thursday as he played against the Minnesota Vikings at the L.A. Coliseum.
Prosecutors alleged he burglarized the homes of singers Rihanna and Christina Milian, baseball player Yasiel Puig and football player Robert Woods - all between August 24 and September 27. Law enforcement sources said a 19-year-old named Tyress Williams was pulled over last Friday after Woods' home had been robbed, and police found stolen items in his auto that belong to Woods, Puig, and famous music artists Rihanna and Christina Milian.
People reports that the LAPD allegedly found property belonging to Woods in the vehicle, after which they detained and later arrested the teenagers.
Police are hunting for more thieves who they believe are involved in the theft of millions of dollars worth of expensive purses, handbags, watches and jewellery.
Second, something else was found along with the stolen goods - a list of celebrity names and addresses, including those of Viola Davis, LeBron James, and Matt Damon.
The crew chose their victims based on social media postings and tour and travel schedules, Carranza said. Puig's homes, in particular, have been burglarized four times in the last month.
They were often out before the alarm company could notify police, said Ms Carranza.
If no one answered, the others would break in and run to the master suite, where they would ransack the room looking for valuables such as cash, jewelry and firearms, Carranza said.
Capt. Lillian Carranza, whose detectives at LAPD's commercial crimes division have been investigating the string of celebrity burglaries, is slated to hold a news conference at police headquarters in downtown Los Angeles announcing details off Williams' arrest Tuesday afternoon.
Police officers have contacted all of the people on the list to advise them how to "harden" their homes against break-ins. "They flocked like birds to areas where the rich and famous resided".
The crooks would wear button-down shirts and drive luxury cars to fit in as they scouted the neighborhood and then changed into casual clothing, including hoodies, before hitting homes, Carranza said.
Cops pulled the 19-year-old over and allegedly discovered things stolen from Williams' home in his vehicle. In November of the same year, Puig's San Fernando Valley home was burglarized, which happened during Game 7 of the World Series. It's unclear whether the other three suspects have been charged.
