We are on the edge of our seat waiting for Netflix to premiere its brand new show, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

Judging by the newly released images, it's abundantly clear that Netflix's series will not be anything like the squeaky-clean Melissa Joan Hart version that ran on ABC's TGIF programming block in the '90s.

Netflix released its first look at images from the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and they have got us dying for more!

These are the first official cast photos, including a shot of Sabrina herself (above), and another (below) of what TVLine called "the dark Baptism of Sabrina" by Father Blackwood (Richard Coyle).

Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who also serves as chief creative officer of Archie Comics, penned the script. Aguirre-Sacasa executive produces alongside Riverdale collaborators Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Archie Comics CEO Jon Goldwater and Lee Toland Krieger. A+ for branding. The series, which sees Kiernan Shipka taking over the lead witchy role, has so far emphasized the horror aspects over the whimsy of the original series, and these first images are dark.

The Powers That Be did warn/promise fans that "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" would be quite dark.

Now that the two shows are on different networks, It remains to be seen if there will be any formal association between Riverdale and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. It's described as in the vein of "Rosemary's Baby" and "The Exorcist" and finds Sabrina wrestling to reconcile her dual nature as a half-witch, half-mortal while fighting the evil forces that threaten her, her family and the daylight world humans inhabit. In the revealed page, Sabrina shows the character Harvey (played by Ross Lynch) a "grove of trees" where she was born and tells him that she'll be "reborn" in that same spot on her 16th birthday.
