Barcelona refuse to dampen Paul Pogba rumours

If Pogba, Sanchez and Lukaku click together, United have the potential to be an exciting team going forward with Fred offering help to Nemanja Matic in the centre of midfield.

Pogba was linked with a switch to Barcelona after the World Cup, and the midfielder's agent Mino Raiola reportedly flew to England to present United with the La Liga side's offer.

Manager Jose Mourinho has already predicted a "difficult season" if United do not do more business, so losing a World Cup-winning midfielder would only add to that.

The chances of Mourinho leaving the club have skyrocketed after a string of poor displays in pre-season, and Mourinho's open frustration with Ed Woodward's performance in the transfer market.

As far as Manchester United are concerned, their defense could use some improvements. Let us know in the comments...

This comes on the back of the souring of Pogba's relationship with Mourinho.

However, it looks likely that Pogba will want a pay rise if he is forced to stay at Manchester United.

Elsewhere, Wayne Rooney hopes United can mount a Premier League challenge against Manchester City but admitted they need two more signings to do so. I think maybe another signing or two. He needs to put his foot down and show what he's all about at Manchester United.

Still, the Mail says that Pogba has sent United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward a message to inform him of his decision.

Willian has been a target of Mourinho's since the Portuguese arrived at Old Trafford in 2016, but is unsure if any formal offers have been made to acquire him this summer. "I'm a coach. Give me a group of players and I will coach them".

Football is a whole skill to itself.
