Fans of Demi Lovato are still recovering from the shocking news that the singer ended up in the hospital last week because of a drug overdose, but the people closest to her knew that something wasn't right.

CNN claimed yesterday that sources close to the 25-year-old singer, who remains hospitalised, had said those complications include "nausea, vomiting and a high fever".

Last week, TMZ, quoting law enforcement sources, reported that Lovato was found unconscious at her home and was treated with Narcan, an emergency treatment for suspected opioid and drug overdoses.

No information has been released regarding what led to her hospitalization.

Entertainment Tonight says that Valderrama has visited his former flame "multiple times" and has "been by her side" since she was hospitalized a week ago. An insider revealed to ET, "Demi is planning to check into a rehab system that works for her once she's released", noting, "This could be inpatient or outpatient".

Lovato has been very open about her struggles with cocaine and alcohol addiction, as well as her mental health issues and an eating disorder. While doctors have reportedly not determined just when to release the pop star from the hospital, a source shared that things are looking good for Lovato, stating, "She is under the care of medical experts and is expected to make a full recovery" (via TMZ).

It is understood that Lovato, who has struggled with substance abuse for years, plans to enter rehab following her release from hospital.

Lovato has been touring and promoting her music in recent months.

However, she later hinted that she'd relapsed when she released the song "Sober" that June.

Demi and Wilmer were together for six years before their split in 2016. The latest reports from media outlets reveal she is experiencing complications and several of her celebrity friends are praying for her. She also thought it was cool to learn something that helped with self-defense.
