Former Reds midfielder McManaman is hopeful that Liverpool FC can win their first silverware under German head coach Klopp.

Liverpool will play friendlies against Italian teams Napoli and Torino before hosting West Ham United in the opening league fixture on August 12.

However, you'd still back Liverpool to do a number on the London side - especially as they now boast a squad that include genuine world class players such as Alisson, Fabinho and Naby Keita. Having a blockbuster, big money transfer window has made the Reds the favorite to try and dethrone Manchester City as Premier League champions. Fans will be keeping a keen eye on their new goalkeeper, who is bound to play a part against Napoli and Torino.

"This initial training session has been useful for me to see what our playing style should be in the Premier League".

"I hope I can help and bring something extra to the team".

"But there are a lot of good players and we have brought a few of them in".

Firstly Liverpool colleague Marko Grujic was the first to have a pop at Wijnaldum as he was filmed missing a one vs one against Alisson, before Netherlands teammate Kevin Strootman got involved in the action.

"It's also showed me that the team are very well adapted to it and everyone seems to be physically fit, not to say technically - they're all great players after all".

"My first impression tells me that it won't be hard for me here - it's a great squad formed by great players and brilliant professionals".

"I've also already worked with "Mo Mo" [Salah], the three of them will be very important for me to settle into the squad".

"I'm sure it's going to be a great season for us all".

While the arrival of Alisson Becker is said to have disappointed Karius, the 25-year-old will remain on Merseyside, seemingly forcing Mignolet to seek pastures new.
