The Pakistan government placed ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz on the exit control list (ECL) to prevent them from flying overseas after they return to the country from London on Friday.
Former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz, who were sentenced to prison in the Avenfield properties case last week, have been placed on the Exit Control List (ECL), the media reported on Tuesday. He further added that Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz are returning Pakistan on July 13.
Earlier, deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz were scheduled to land in Islamabad from London on the coming Friday.
"Let me make it clear that the law enforcement agencies will arrest Nawaz and Maryam at the airport to implement the court's order", he said.
After reaching the election office of PML-N leader Hanif Abbasi, Safdar Awan was officially arrested and shifted into the vehicle of NAB team. Safdar was in Liaquat Bagh to present himself for detention after the accountability court issued his arrest warrants in Avenfield reference. "On the announcement of the Sharif family that Nawaz and Maryam are arriving in Lahore on Friday at 6.15 p.m. we have written to the Punjab government to coordinate with NAB for their arrest at the airport", said an NAB official on Monday. A clash broke out between Nawaz Sharif's Pakistan Muslim League (N) party members and agitated PTI protestors after the incident.
Supreme Court gave the extension in Nawaz Sharif and Ishaq Dar's references after the Accountability Court's judge Mohammad Bashir requested for the extension in today's deadline.
"Our workers can not be stopped by any hurdle", she said.
