"We found a body from Illickal area and have identified it as Dinu".

Kottayam: Upset over Argentina's poor showing in the ongoing football world cup, a 30-year-old ardent fan of the South American team has left his home in Kottayam, saying in a note he was going to end his life, police said on Friday.

According to police, the suicide note left by Dinu Alex, 30, says that he was departing to the depths of death.

According to Dinu's cousin, Dinu has scribbled on a notebook that he is ready to give up his life for Messi's Argentina so that they can lift the World Cup. "I will do it".

Dinu, an accountant with a private firm in Kottayam, had told his colleagues on Thursday that Argentina would ride to a win on Messi's goals. He had bought a jersey of Argentina on the way back home. Though some of his friends called him after the match, his mobile was switched off.

"She used to wake him up at 5 am every day".

Ayarkunnam police station house officer Anil Kumar V S said, a sniffer dog, which was brought to Alex's house in Arumanoor village, had traced his scent to the banks of nearby Meenachil river. They have for now called off the search in the river.

"The river is flowing in full spate because of heavy rains".

Search would resume tomorrow.

Though Argentina coach Jorge Sampaoli took the blame for the loss but fans were not ready to spare captain Lionel Messi. Dinu was a Chemistry graduate and his name also figured in the PSC lower division clerk rank list.
