Fallen Kingdom Tracking Well Behind The Original

Jurassic World 2 will arrive in 4,475 theaters, making it the second widest release in history, behind last year's Despicable Me 3 (4,529 theaters), edging out this year's Marvel blockbuster Avengers: Infinity War by just one theater (4,474 theaters). According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fallen Kingdom is tracking well behind the $208.8 million hauled in during the debut of Jurassic World - which is the fourth biggest opening weekend of all-time - with that aforementioned $130-$150 million being the current projection.

"Fallen Kingdom", which carries a production budget of $170 million, began rolling out overseas two weeks ago, and has already earned $466 million from 51 worldwide markets, including $170 million from China.

So the TL;DR here is that Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom will probably fall far short of its predecessor at the box office on opening weekend, but given the circumstances, it'll still perform pretty swimmingly. The movie has received mixed reviews from critics, with a 52 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, although it has done slightly better with viewers, with a 65 percent audience score on the same platform.

When "Jurassic Park" came out in 1993, it was a groundbreaking marvel. The film was made on a $170 million budget and has made that back in China alone. The film stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, B. D. Wong, Jeff Goldblum, Rafe Spall, Justice Smith, Daniella Pineda, James Cromwell, Toby Jones, Ted Levine, Isabella Sermon, and Geraldine Chaplin.
