Liverpool winger Sadio Mane has rubbished speculation that he wants to leave the club and denied that he was poised to join Real Madrid at the end of the season.

"I want to win trophies, especially the Champions League", he added.

Liverpool lost to Real Madrid 3-1 in the Champions League final last month as the Reds ended the season without a single piece of silverware.

Alongside Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino, the African star has become one of the most sought-after attackers in Europe, which has prompted interest from Los Blancos.

The Senegal worldwide made 44 appearances for Jurgen Klopp's charges in all competitions this past season and scored 20 goals while providing nine assists.

This was quickly refuted by Liverpool-based journalists, with the Reds looking to extend Mane's contract this summer, but speaking on the eve of the tournament he was still questioned on a move. As as I say, I'm happy at Anfield but you never know what will happen in the future.

Mane will next line up for Senegal at the FIFA World Cup, with Poland first in line in a group that also features Japan and Colombia. But the former French International shocked the world when he announced his departure, four days after Real Madrid's Champions League.

Liverpool launched their "deep violet" away kit on Thursday and defender Virgil van Dijk said: "We have the best travelling support in football and I'm excited to run out in front of our fans wearing this strip". The defeat is ticked off.

Mane is preparing for the World Cup this week with his Senegal team-mates. "That's my whole focus".
