McGowan pleaded not guilty to the charge, as she claims she had been without the wallet for five hours before getting it back, meaning anyone could have planted the drugs in the wallet.
McGowan, who was indicted Monday, is accused of leaving a wallet with cocaine inside on a plane at Dulles International Airport past year.
Her attorney Jose Baez said McGowan's charge is a result of "her activism as a voice for women everywhere".
And although she fought to have the case thrown out, on Monday, she was indicted by a grand jury and has been hit with one felony count of cocaine possession.
"Are they trying to silence me?" McGowan was not present in the courtroom and will not attend her trial Tuesday, local radio station WTOP reported.
"There is a warrant out for my arrest in Virginia", she wrote. McGowan has said repeatedly that the drugs may have been planted on her, and are not hers. Weinstein has denied all accusations. She previously stated that she believes the wallet was taken from her backpack while she was travelling.
Weinstein was indicted and charged with rape in the first and third degree and a first-degree criminal sexual act last month.
"I'm the only one who's had handcuffs on me so far in this situation", she told the publication. The charges are unrelated to McGowan's allegations against him. He couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
