Central Texas In-N-Out Burger restaurants remained closed for a second day Tuesday while the company deals with a problem with substandard buns.
Texas fans of In-N-Out Burger will have to wait a little bit to get their burger fix.
The burger chain's restaurants in Texas will reopen on Wednesday, June 13, after their new shipment of hamburger buns arrived late Tuesday afternoon, according to sources close to the situation.
"At In-N-Out Burger, we make all of our hamburger patties ourselves and deliver them fresh to all of our restaurants with our own delivery vehicles", In-N-Out vice president of planning and development Carl Van Fleet told news site Business Insider a year ago. The company confirmed to KENS 5 the closure was due to a quality control issue with the recent shipment of hamburger buns.
"At In-N-Out Burgers, we have always served the highest quality food with no compromise. There was and are no food safety concerns", the company said Monday.
In-N-Out now has 37 restaurants in the state of Texas, which is notably the easternmost state where it operates.
It has plans to open locations in a seventh state - Colorado - in the coming years.
