While some might have been anxious about how Dumbo would translate into a live action adaptation, the teaser show's there's nothing to worry about. Dumbo himself looks adorable too, and there's a new version of tearjerking song Baby Mine - if you've forgotten how upsetting the original story is, you might want to gather your emotions before heading into the multiplexes for this one. Directed by Tim Burton, the teaser of Dumbo showcases a magical world of a circus where dreams take flight. But in Dumbo, everyone is flesh-colored, warm and full of hope - especially the young girl Milly (Nico Parker) who takes the lost Dumbo under her wing.
However, Dumbo will not be having Depp in the lead; instead the movie will star Colin Farrell, Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito, Eva Green and Alan Arkin. But Dumbo has a unique ability that soon garners the attention of the greedy entrepreneur - and obvious P.T. Barnum stand-in - V.A. Vandevere (Michael Keaton). Burton directs from a script by Ehren Kruger (Ghost in the Shell). Circus owner Max Medici (DeVito) enlists Holt to care for a newborn elephant, whose oversized ears make him a laughingstock in an already struggling circus.
The story of the tiny elephant with the huge ears was originally released by Disney in 1941, but Burton's new vision will hit cinemas in March 2019.
