John Schneider's gonna be behind bars for the next few days - a judge just gave him jail time for not paying spousal support to his estranged wife, Elvira. The payments were due in mid-March.

At the time, the judge reportedly told him to transfer his property to Elly, who's also known as Elvira Schneider, and to resolve tax liens against the property. TMZ reports that he did not resolve the tax liens.

In September 2016, John was ordered to pay $18,911 to his former missus.

After the actor failed to meet the deadline, he was ordered Monday (June 11) to spend three days in the Los Angeles County Jail.

Schneider could reportedly be in jail as soon as Tuesday.

As previously reported, Schneider was taken to court over the spousal support in February of 2018.

He claimed that he couldn't afford the payments after losing the majority of his money when his Louisiana movie studio was destroyed by floods in March 2016.

Schneider at age 17 won the role of Bo Duke on The Dukes Of Hazzard and starred on the CBS show from 1979 to 1985 opposite Tom Wopat as his older cousin Luke Duke.

In addition to their time on The Dukes of Hazzard, Schneider has had a career in country music. He claims she spent $15,000 per month on their American Express card and put them both "in severe debt to commercial institutions, the IRS and the state government".
