America's Got Talent star Neal Boyd has passed away on Sunday 10 June.

One year ago, Boyd and his mother were involved in a serious vehicle accident in Scott County, after running off the right side of the road, striking a tree. The singer was reportedly at his mother's home at the time.

Speaking about the incident at the time, he told the Southeast Missourian: "It was a very, very, very bad wreck's a very slow progress. I shattered a lot of bones, and shattered my hip, which has left me nearly unable to use that leg for now", he said.

He released one album following his "AGT" victory, "My American Dream".

"You never know what's going to happen next", he said.

Boyd, who ran as Republican for the Missouri House of Representatives in 2011, also had political plans.

"Just be grateful that you survived", he continued.
