When her episode aired in May, Voigt, a head and neck surgeon from NY caught the episode, and noticed, as he told the hosts of GMA, "a subtlety in her neck".

The power of social media proved to be enough as word eventually reached Nicole McGuinness from Havelock in North Carolina.

During an episode of the HGTV show, Beachfront Bargain Hunt, a woman who appeared on the show got the shock of her life when a viewer happened to notice something about her that was not right. It is worth mentioning here that Nicole was already a brain cancer survivor and her doctors hadn't noticed the lump in her throat.

He didn't just notice the lump, but recognized how serious it could turn out to be for the woman on television.

But, in his own home, Dr Erich Voigt identified a worrisome mass on Nicole's neck, and posted to Facebook that she might have another tumour to battle yet.

"I noticed that she had a lump in her neck", Voigt recalls to ABC News. He shared how the woman is in need of a sonogram and biopsy. I felt obliged and sort of guilty, like I should let her know. When McGuinness visited a specialist for a consult after hearing Voigt's recommendation, she was told that she does have thyroid cancer in its early stages. She said she learned it was thyroid cancer, and was seeking the appropriate medical care.

"She might be seeing a surgeon and getting applicable remedy and I hope she might be cured!"

"It's just a miracle, in my opinion, that he happened to see this on television", McGuinness told ABC News.

She added: "I am unable to categorical how grateful I'm".

Though they have chatted online and emailed, the eagle-eyed doctor and the woman who credits him with helping diagnose her are slated to meet for the first time face-to-face on "Good Morning America" tomorrow. "So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much".
