The 29-year-old became Cityzen all-time record goalscorer this season as the Argentina global was once instrumental for Guardiola stunning Premier League record-breaking title win.

Manchester City's star striker was asked about a potential transfer to the Catalan outfit and whether he would want to play alongside his worldwide teammate Lionel Messi at Camp Nou.

The 29-year-old finished an injury-curtailed campaign with 30 goals in all competitions and back in position as Guardiola's first-choice striker.

Earlier in May, Radio Marca reported Aguero's former team Atletico Madrid had made contact with him regarding a move this summer (h/t Marca's Adrian Gomez).

"He is going to stay at Barcelona, where he's playing well, and I'll do so at City".

"Pep supported me a lot".

"Guardiola is very demanding, it wasn't easy at the beginning", he said of the City boss, who signed a two-year contract extension to keep him in charge at the Etihad Stadium until 2021 on Thursday.

Aguero, meanwhile, has admitted he would have missed the World Cup in Russian Federation this summer had he not chose to have an operation on his damaged knee.

"After five years, I feel like new in my knee", he said.

"The truth is that since 2013 I have been suffering with my knee - that season I had problems, after 2014 I had problems - something always bothered me in the knee".

And he admits that he feels a lot better, adding: "If I did not get the procedure done, I would've missed the World Cup".

"It is now a question of age for both him and for me".

"After five years, my knee is like knew".
