Pauley Perrette responds to CBS' acknowledgement of her 'physical assaults' claims

However, over the weekend Pauley posted a series of tweets which suggested that her departure may have been related to "Multiple Physical Assaults" she experienced in the workplace, and in outcome, the USA television network behind the show has released a statement.

Perrette tweeted the conciliatory language Tuesday, soon after CBS said in a statement that Perrette had "a workplace concern" more than a year ago, and the company took the matter seriously and worked with her to find a resolution.

Many anticipated that CBS would therefore come under scrutiny, but CBS eventually issued a response this week, outlining a "workplace concern" that Perrette had approached them with, and one that was dealt with to her satisfaction.

The statement was released after Perrette, 49, penned a series of cryptic tweets following her departure from NCIS, after 15 seasons. No morals, no obligation to truth, and I'm just left here, reading the lies, trying to protect my crew. She ended by explaining why she felt she needed to leave NCIS.

The Twitter rant begins with Perrette discussing some tabloid articles about her - it's unclear which ones - but the actor seems to be saying that she somehow suffered abuse during her time on the show. "I don't know", she continued.

"Maybe silence isn't the right thing about crime".

Perrette's May 13 tweets referred to "multiple physical assaults" and "bullying", and cryptically mentioned a "machine keeping [her] silent". A very rich, very powerful publicity "machine". If any Twitter followers believe the allegations against her, she asks that people "please leave me alone". Trying to remain calm. "We are committed to a safe work environment on all our shows", it read. "They have always been so good to me and always had my back".

Variety then adds, "Perrette declined to comment for this story through her representatives, but posted a tweet thanking her studio and network CBS". "Abby is a character that inspires millions of fans around the world, and all of us at NCIS are appreciative of Pauley for portraying her".
