Monzo, the United Kingdom challenger bank, finally rolls out Apple Pay

The upstart bank, which usually makes a virtue of its community-driven approach and transparency hasn't been able to say (or even fully acknowledge that the feature was coming), likely because Apple imposes strict rules on the ways its partners communicate working with the tech giant. The Ukrainian Finance Minster announced the news on Facebook.

You'll also find instructions on how to add your Monzo card to Apple Pay on Apple Watch, iPad and MacBook Pro, and the answers to some common questions. Better late than never, naturally. You can do it from your Wallet, or from your Monzo app.

Of course, most people simply like Apple Pay for its convenience, letting you use your phone to pay rather than fumbling for a debit or credit card, and when shopping online not having to repeatedly enter card details. In iOS 11, it is not possible to turn off notification alerts for just one card in your Wallet, so users have to disable Wallet notifications completely to address the duplicate notification issue.

You can either setup your iPhone with Apple Pay through the Wallet app (we have a handy guide on that here) or directly through the Monzo app. Authorizing the purchase is as simple as scanning your fingerprint with Touch ID or looking at the display for Face ID on iPhone X. There is no additional fee for using Apple Pay.

Adding your card to Apple Pay is easy.
