Meghan Markle's father will miss royal wedding to undergo heart surgery

The father of American actress Meghan Markle says he can't attend his daughter's wedding to Britain's Prince Harry because he needs to undergo heart surgery.

According to TMZ, he told the website he regretted allowing the pictures to be taken and acknowledged they looked "stupid". The report adds that the surgeons will clear the blockage in Markle's heart, fix damage and put in a stent.

May 14 - Thomas Markle says he will no longer attend the royal wedding.

Obviously, though, this is significantly more serious and potentially life-threatening than all those faked paparazzi pic allegations.

May 4 - Kensington Palace confirms Thomas Markle will walk Meghan Markle down the aisle.
