"I was 14 which is so young to start in that process", Liam said.

Although now working on a debut solo album, Liam recently signalled that a long-awaited One Direction reunion is on the cards.

He didn't divulge the album title or confirm any features, but he did hint that the artists he's already teamed up with - Balvin, Quavo, Rita Ora, and Zedd - are just the beginning.

The singer - who first found fame at 14, when he appeared on The X Factor - admitted he anxious about carving out a solo career when the boy band went on hiatus in 2015 because he wasn't sure he still wanted to be "famous".

"I've had a few, there have been some tough times", he confessed.

His One Direction bandmates Harry Styles and Niall Horan have already released solo albums, with Styles hitting the number one spot previous year, while Louis Tomlinson is also set to release his own album. After giving birth to son Bear with boyfriend Liam Payne, 24, last year, and refusing the help of a nanny so that she could be a hands-on mother to their son, Cheryl said it was important for Payne to cook meals for their family so she could have time to rest with the baby.

"I wouldn't say it's a body of work that will flow, but what I like is that it's going to be hit to hit to hit". The singer was speaking to the radio station for Mental Health Awareness Week in the United Kingdom. "I love my life, it's been fantastic but there have been a lot of struggles to get to this point".

He claimed, "I've got a good mix of lovely people on my album, which is amazing" and now we just wanna see the tracklist ASAP! "They don't have to be a psychologist - just people who are friendly, someone to talk to".
