Her jail time may be up to 15 years, though this tragedy will last a lifetime for the grieving parents of both young children.

Her legal representative confirmed the sad news in a statement to NY Daily News, confirming the heartbreaking news that the actress had named the child. "This past Friday Ruthie and Jonathan lost their baby, Sophia Rosemary Wong Blumenstein", the lawyer said. The mother of one of the victims who was 7 months pregnant at the time, and was also injured in the crash, lost her unborn baby.

She and husband Jonathan Blumenstein were expecting a baby girl.

'The pain suffered by Ruthie and Jonathan is almost impossible to fathom, ' they added.

Miles was crossing a street in the city's Brooklyn Park Slope neighbourhood on 5 March when she and her four-year-old daughter Abigail were knocked down by Dorothy Burns.

Our thoughts are with the Ruthie and the Blumenstein family at this hard time. Miles' friend's 1-year-old son, Josh Lew, was also killed.

The two children were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle, Dorothy Burns, has been charged with manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, reckless endangerment and assault and reckless driving.

Bruns' lawyer pleaded not guilty on her behalf. Bruns was indicted earlier this month.

Before the accident took place, a source previously told PEOPLE the 4-year-old Abigail "was excited to be a big sister".
