Fairfield, Calif., mother faces nine additional felony counts of child abuse

All of this allegedly took place inside a bright, gable-roofed, four-bedroom house that looks from the outside as well-kept as the rest of those on the cul-de-sac.

Each Rogers and Allen have denied the accusations towards them.

She's scheduled to appear in court on the new charges Wednesday.

She told NBC: "Jonathan worships the devil. I am an unbelievable mother".

The 30-year-old is the mother of all 10 children - from a 4-month-old infant to her oldest, a 12-year-boy.

The father, 29-year-old Jonathan Allen, was arrested Friday after the children were interviewed.

Larry Magney, who lives across the street on Fieldstone Court, told the San Francisco Chronicle that the couple moved in about a year ago.

When police arrived at their home after finding their missing child, they found nine children huddled together amid filth, the report added.

Rogers told reporters Monday that the allegations against her and her husband are false.

The boy was eventually found sleeping under a bush in a neighbour's yard, police said. When they brought they child home, officers searched the residence "due to concerns for the safety and health of the child and the child's siblings".

Pictures obtained by ABC affiliate KGO show furniture, trash, toys and miscellany scattered at every angle, as if a storm had torn through the home.

"There's no broken bones, there is no major scars, nothing", Rogers told reporters in front of her house.

The charges allege that she caused the children to be in a situation that was likely to produce great bodily injury and death.

Rogers was charged on April 3 with child neglect.

Stories about the alleged abuse came out gradually in interviews with the children over the past six weeks and eight of the children told professionals about incidents dating back several years, authorities said.

"Officers located unsafe and unsanitary living conditions including garbage and spoiled food on the floor, animal and human feces and a large amount of debris making areas of the house unpassable", he said.

They claimed they had been burned and bruised, and had puncture wounds and injuries consistent with being shot with a pellet gun. Allen's bail is set at more than$5 million. Police said Monday, May 14, 2018, they had removed 10 children from a squalid California home and charged their father, Allen, with torture and their mother, Rogers, with neglect after an investigation revealed a lengthy period of severe physical and emotional abuse. She did not say why.

"It literally breaks your heart, and you're outraged by how a parent or anyone could commit those acts", she said.

They both worked, she said - she on the graveyard shift as an EKG technician, and Allen as a tattoo artist.

Rogers said she homeschooled the children, but there is no record she registered with the state as required by law.

Peggy Allen, the mother of Jonathan Allen, said she had talked to Rogers about the importance of keeping a clean house.

Then Child Welfare Services, the Fairfield Police Department's Family Violence Unit and the Solano County District Attorney's Office launched an investigation. But I am not an animal.

"The truth is that it is a functioning household", he said.
