Since the launch of Reliance Jio in September 2016, the telecom sector in the country has undergone a major disruption. It also offers 100 SMS per day.The key highlight of the offer is that it will give 1GB data per day for a validity period of 180 days. BSNL is also offering its subscribers with free PRBT tune (caller ring tones). The Rs 118 prepaid plan comes with the benefits of unlimited local STD and roaming voice calls and data benefit for a validity of 28 days. Previously, Airtel's prepaid plan was limited to just Airtel to Airtel voice calls, but the pack now includes unlimited local, STD and roaming calls to all networks. The plan also offers 300 local and national SMS, and complimentary subscription to Jio suite of apps. Additionally, this plan offers free caller tunes but there is no mobile data benefit with this plan. However, for choosing any other ringtone, users will be charged a nominal fee. Many other telcos like Bharti Airtel, Vodafone and Idea Cellular have learned the ways of RJio offers, but to a government-owned company like BSNL, it had to think big something out of the box. This plan is available in many circles like Kolkata, Tamil Nadu, Chennai and so on. Except for Delhi and Mumbai telecom circles, this pack also offers unlimited voice calling on roaming networks. Every telecom operator has come up with voice and data packs at lucrative prices to lure subscribers.
Airtel has recently revamped its Rs 149 plan to offer 1GB per day bundled with unlimited calls and SMS benefits.
It needs to be noted that, RJio does not have any 1GB data plan for a validity of 28 days. Identical to the Airtel and some other "unlimited" plans, the voice calls in the pack are limited to 250 minutes per day and 1,000 minutes per week. BSNL is also offering 128Kbps of data speed.
