"The minute we heard this song we knew it was special", says Kevin Richardson. "I geeked out over the piano and synths".

The group, which this year celebrates its 25th anniversary, last released a studio album in 2013 with World Like This. Great verse, hook and melodies.

The song is called "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" and no, it's not a cover of Elton John's duet with Kiki Dee. just so you know.

Backstreet's back, alright - the Backstreet Boys have dropped a new high-energy single 'Don't Go Breaking My Heart', along with a music video. The track is an electro-pop banger that is hard and funky, standing tall against the group's contemporaries. "Boom. Brand spankin' new single and music video is here!"

"Our hearts feel like they're about to burst but they're definitely not breaking. because #DontGoBreakingMyHeart is the number one trending topic in the US!"

Backstreet Boys will support the single with a return to the Good Morning America Summer Concert Series in New York's Central Park on 13th July 2018.

The I Want It That Way hitmakers took inspiration for their new album from their Las Vegas residency shows, and Howie is "very proud" of the record.

Howie explained that ideas of a straight-up country record were dismissed earlier this year, but they are open to embracing the genre in the future.
