The police department told WSB-TV that T.I., legally named Clifford Harris Jr., didn't have his key to enter, and a security guard reportedly refused to let him in. After arriving on the scene, Henry County PD also arrested Tip's friend, who has not been identified. The rapper was later released on bail.

Police told the outlet that he was arrested at the gated community where he lives after an altercation with a security guard.

The rapper T.I. was arrested on Wednesday morning in Georgia and charged with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.

T.I. was taken into police custody early Wednesday morning, May 16, 2018.

In an interview with the Blast after his arrest, T.I. said that he got into a "very heated debate" with the guard, but that there was no physical confrontation.

According to reports, the incident went down a few hours ago when a guard wouldn't allow Tip into the neighborhood without his key.

WSB-TV also reported that at some point, T.I. called an unnamed friend for help, but his friend was also apprehended when the cops arrived, as he had an outstanding warrant for his own arrest.

Still, he claims the security guard, who was African-American, "antagonized" him and had "every opportunity" to apologize for sleeping, but the guy refused. He says the guard eventually called the police, but says the law enforcement near his home are "white cops in a very white area", and he was promptly arrested. He says the guard continued to refuse entry "without justification" before words were exchanged and police were called. Attorney Sadow says the officers had no interest in "hearing Tip's side of the story and wrongfully chose to end the situation by arresting Tip".

Last weekend, T.I. saluted his wife Tameka "Tiny" Cottle with a Mother's Day shout-out.
