Deep Silver said in a statement that the change in release date was forced upon them in order to make sure that the game was fully "polished" before being unveiled. A teaser trailer released back in 2017 was criticized for the bizarrely blank facial expressions of its characters.
'To all of our backers, we are very sorry for the delay, ' he wrote.
This is a bit of a setback considering that the game has been in and out of development over the last decade.
