Bill Cosby's accuser, her mom testify at sex-assault retrial

The defense attempted to poke holes in Constand's allegations by questioning her about the almost 70 phone calls she made to Cosby after the alleged assault, her involvement in a "pyramid scheme" at Temple and her sexual assault and conflict-of-interest training as a university employee, among other things.

The entertainer came under fire past year during his first trial by openly leering as Constand fully recounted, in graphic detail, her memory of the alleged assault.

The Associated Press does not typically identify people who say they are victims of sexual assault unless they grant permission, which Constand has done.

Andrea Constand leaves the courtroom during a recess on the sixth day of Bill Cosby's sexual assault retrial at the Montgomery County Courthouse in Pennsylvania, on April 16, 208.

Constand said she had not.

The protection law firm then inquired, "Did you create a scheme to falsely accuse him for the money?"

Mesereau repeatedly asked Constand if she had abided by its terms, which barred her from initiating criminal charges against him.

"I don't know what that means", Constand replied.

Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas Judge Steve T. O'Neill has not yet ruled whether he would allow Jackson to testify. "I don't know her".

What was the accuser's relationship with Cosby?

Ms Constand told the court that she does not know Marguerite Jackson - a woman who the defence plan to call as a witness as part of their attempt to discredit her.

Bill Cosby's lawyer is trying to paint the chief accuser in the comedian's sex-assault case as an unrequited lover who spent late nights at the comedian's home, drove hours to see him at a casino and called him twice on Valentine's Day after she says he drugged and molested her.

Bill Cosby's lawyer opened the comedian's sexual assault retrial last week with a blistering attack on accuser Andrea Constand, telling jurors that evidence would show she's nothing more than a con artist who framed the comedian and cashed in with a $3.4 million civil settlement.

Constand says Cosby drugged and sexually assaulted her at his home; he says he gave her an over-the-counter cold medication and their encounter was consensual.

If convicted, Cosby may end up to 10 years in prison each of three rates of indecent attack.

Judge Steven O'Neill disclosed the injury as the retrial resumed Monday.

Andrea Constand faces more defense questions on Monday, and Cosby lawyer Tom Mesereau is scouring a binder full of her police statements and prior testimony for inconsistencies.

While Ms Jackson says she worked closely with Ms Constand and considered her a friend, Ms Constand says she does not "recall ever having a conversation with" her.

Ms Constand explained that she may have been mistaken, that there were times Mr Cosby told her in advance that the gate would be open and that she often reached him at another number. She maintains she viewed Cosby as a mentor and never had a romantic interest in him.

Phone data reveal Constand, the former director of women's basketball operations in Temple University, manufactured brief forecasts for Cosby across the right time of a Temple residence video game on February 14, 2004, the thirty day period immediately after the alleged attack.

"You didn't talk to anyone about the criminal case after you got all this money?"

But Mesereau, who's best known for winning Michael Jackson an acquittal in his 2005 child molestation case, was incredulous as Constand denied being aware that Cosby was sexually attracted to her - even after he touched her thigh on one occasion and tried unbuttoning her trousers on another.

Mesereau asked Constand why she went to a married man's hotel room when she went to see him perform in CT months before the alleged assault.

Among the "prior bad acts" witnesses was TV star and supermodel Janice Dickinson, who testified Thursday that she confronted Cosby and wanted to strike him after she said he drugged her and raped her in 1982 at a hotel in Lake Tahoe.

Gianna Constand testified Monday she was concerned because her daughter hadn't been the same since leaving Temple University in Philadelphia in March 2004, about two months after the alleged assault, and moving back to Canada.
