Sony India launches its 2018 headphone and Wireless Speaker lineup

The devices will be available across "Sony Centers" and stores in India.

In a bid to solidify its position in the personal audio segment, Sony has unveiled its new lineup of audio products in India.

WI-SP600N and WI-SP500 These wireless in-ear headphones boast of the same digital noise cancelling and sound quality technology and the same level splash-proof rating as the WF-SP700N.

The removal of the headphone jack in the new flagship range and the convenience of using the wireless headphones are contributing towards the growth of the wireless audio category. The headphones series is created to offer stunningly premium and refined sound. A wireless design is important when wearing headphones on the go, keeping this in mind the company has designed the wireless noise cancelling headphones, WF-SP700N which is combined with digital noise cancelling technology and splash-proof design.

In a released statement, Sony says these headphones will be optimized for Google Assistant with an update.

Both of them come in a behind the neck design and while the WI-SP600N have a claimed battery life of up to approximately six hours, the WI-SP500 are said to last eight hours. The WH-CH400 is an on-ear headphone, comes with an in-line mic for hands-free calling, support for Google Assistant and up to 20 hours of battery backup. After the update, those using these headphones can ask questions and get things done. All the new headphones support Google Assistant/Siri, feature NFC and have have Bluetooth connectivity. All these headphones come with Sony's one-touch connectivity, NFC and Bluetooth functions. The WI-SP600N is priced at Rs 9,990, and will also be available from May 15 in black. The remaining three headphone models will be available from May 15, 2018. The WH-CH400 costs Rs 3,790, while the WH-CH500 are priced at Rs 4,990.

Along with the sports range, Sony has also launched an affordable wireless range with a starting price of Rs 2,990. The three wireless speakers, SRS-XB41, SRS-XB31 and SRS-XB21, are IP67 dust and water resistant and have a fabric finish.

The new range of headphones include six models - WI-C300 (Rs 2,990), WH-CH400 (Rs 3,790), WH-CH500 (Rs 4,990), WI-SP500 (Rs 4,990), WI-SP600N (Rs 9,990), and WF-SP700N (Rs 12,990). They feature newly introduced line lights, strobe lights (not on XB21) and speakers lights (on XB41) to add colours to the party.
