Snow, slippery roads could hamper Monday morning commute

Gusty winds develop behind a cold front this morning.

A strong spring storm will continue to bring winterlike weather to eastern Iowa tonight and Sunday. The freezing rain was expected to turn into rain by Monday afternoon, turning heavy at times. The snow will accumulate mainly on grassy surfaces, as the ground is relatively warm.

A quick, sharp shift in the jet stream will return winter to Cleveland today.

The rest of the week looks dry and seasonably warm, with the warmest day on Wednesday with highs inching toward the low 80s.

We had an interesting weather setup that brought us snow, sleet, and freezing rain. By afternoon, a few peaks of sunshine possible with high temps only in the mid 30s.

Mostly cloudy, breezy and cooler with scattered rain and snow showers. highs in the mid 40s.

Light to moderate snow is expected to fall this morning over parts of Chicago and the northern suburbs, making for slippery roads during the Monday morning commute.
