Conway was on the offensive against the former Federal Bureau of Investigation director on Monday morning, hours after ABC aired its sprawling interview with him where called Trump "morally unfit" to be president.

There are 2 comments on the Yahoo! story from 1 hr ago, titled Kellyanne Conway On James Comey: "This Guy Swung An Election". After Cuomo pushed Conway on the Russian investigation, Conway started to lose her cool.

"He thought the wrong person would win", Conway said.

Many observers and researchers have said the announcement, just days before the presidential election, helped push Trump over the top against his Democratic opponent.

"This guy swung an election", Conway told Stephanopoulos on "Good Morning America" Monday, while derisively rattling off a list of Comey's various misdeeds in government.

"I saw James Comey last night and I thought: 'Is it true that James Comey swung an election?" "BEFORE Oct 28/Comey letter: - she struggled to get 50% polls in states Pres Obama carried twice - majority said she wasn't honest/trustworthy -Trump better candidate/message/connector", Conway concluded.

Shortly after her lap on the morning shows, Conway told the Daily Beast that she was being "tongue-in-cheek" during her comments on ABC.

She also tweeted her defense.

"This misleading headline should include an eye roll and question mark".

In the interview that aired Sunday, Comey said that he would not favor impeaching Trump to remove him from office, because that "would let the American people off the hook and have something happen indirectly that I believe they're duty-bound to do directly" - meaning through elections. I don't think so.

As excerpts of the book "A Higher Truth" were given to the media, it quickly triggered a rage within Donald Trump, who then vented his frustrations on Twitter, with the president referring to Comey as a "leaker", a "liar", and a "slimeball". Trump recently called Comey's actions "one of the worst "botch jobs" of history".
