The Lemonade singer was initially billed to headline last year's Coachella, but she had to cancel after she found out that she was pregnant with kids.
In the opening of her highly anticipated Coachella act, Beyonce tipped her hat to New Orleans' own Rebirth Brass Band on Saturday night (April 14), kicking off a performance inspired by historically black colleges and culture that was quickly dubbed "Beychella".
While other praised Bey for being a complete pro by showing some good moves and not missing a beat while ensuring there was no Janet Jackson moment.
She kept the family love flowing by inviting her former Destiny's Child members - "my sisters" - Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams onstage for a medley of their early aughts hits like "Lose My Breath". The strap of her over-the-knee boots dropped as well during the same show.
Beyonce's performance took a military theme, beginning with her 2003 hit insane in Love played by the marching band. Fans who had noticed the wardrobe malfunction lauded Beyonce's professionalism and praised her on social media. The epic wardrobe malfunction didn't hinder her performance at all.
While Beyonce did keep her fans waiting, it's interesting to know that the singer is the first black woman to perform at the festival.
One said, "These twins gave Beyonce a MORE bangin body than she already had!"
Beyonce will take the stage again next week as headliner for the festival's second weekend.
