The 25-year-old rapper admitted last year to feeling as though Nicki had tried to one-up her by re-recording her verse of "MotorSport" - which the pair recorded alongside Migos - and removing Cardi's name from the lyrics.
After a long social media hiatus, Nicki Minaj has returned to the Internet with objective - not only to release two new singles, "Barbie Tingz" and "Chun-Li", but to discuss her complicated association with Cardi B, starting with the controversy surrounding her verse on "Motorsport".
"The first interview [Cardi] did after "MotorSport" came out, it just really hurt me 'cause she looked so aggravated and angry ... It's because of the Nicki hate parade that she felt the comfortability to address me in that manner". Seems Quavo also apologize to Nicki and that's when she called off her Barbz.
"And he didn't back me up".
Nicki also accused Cardi of failing to show her the respect she deserves. For LIFE."See her reaction on social media below. He apologized". I'm not saying it in a cocky way ... Apparently Quavo had asked her to cut out her singing part and to shorten her verse.
But Nicki has heaped praise on the up-and-coming star, and insists she wishes her nothing but success during her career.
Nicki recently revealed in an interview with Beats 1's Zane Lowe that she felt some type of way about how the Migos members handled the situation of speculation about how "MotorSport", which features Cardi B and Nicki Minaj, came together, with some suggesting Nicki was unaware that Bardi would be on the track.
"With Cardi B, she's done exactly what she should have done".
