An 18-year-old aspiring version was murdered and others injured crashed while into the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on its own way.
The name of 18-year-old woman who was thrown from the auto and killed was not immediately released.
The California Highway Patrol said 21-year-old Cesar Hernandezozuna was speeding when his BMW drifted onto the dirt shoulder.
A BMW that was split in two in a crash on a Riverside County freeway was carrying three young San Diegans headed to Indio for the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, including an 18-year-old woman who was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene, authorities said Friday.
The driver tried to get back onto the freeway but went over an embankment and hit two trees, officers said.

A teenager from San Diego tragically died in a auto accident on her way to Coachella in Indio, CA on April 12, authorities told CBS8.
The vehicle was stocked with food, camping equipment and alcohol but authorities have ruled out drugs and alcohol as possible factors of the wreck.
"The BMW was loaded with food, alcohol and camping gear because all three people were on their approach for the Coachella Festival at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, " the California Highway Patrol said in an announcement".
Cerciellorahbari now goes to La Jolla High School and Gallone-Latte was a former student there. The school gave CBS8 a statement about the heartbreaking accident.
"Our condolences go out into the college student's household and friends in this tough time, also also we wish the best for one individuals as they recover included". Counselors have been on campus to provide support to students and staff, and will be available indefinitely to assist anyone in need.
Both teens had previously attended La Jolla High School.
The California Highway Patrol said they were investigating the crash.
