Vivo, as Gadgets Now reported yesterday (April 12), has officially launched its Y71 budget range smartphone in India today. Priced at Rs 10,990, the handset aims to bring some of the premium V-series features to those with tight pockets.
The phone, which launches tomorrow (April 14) at physical stores and April 16 via online retailers, packs a fair amount of features for 10,990 rupees ($168). Its smart low volume also recognizes when you are looking at the screen and intuitively lowers the volume of message alerts, incoming calls and alarms, the company added. The phone which comes with 84.4% of screen-to-body ratio is actually said to be more than the iPhone X's measure of the same.
The Vivo Y71 is packed with a 3360mAh battery with Vivo Smart Engine which according to Vivo improves the battery performance by providing additional power management for prolonged usage. Notably, the Vivo Y71 will be available in Gold and Matte Black colour variants. The smartphone sports a 6-inch FullView display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The handset is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC paired with 3GB of RAM.
This is Dual-SIM supporting phone and runs Android 8.1 Oreo with layer of FunTouch skin on top. It is equipped with 16GB inbuilt storage which is expandable via microSD.
The Y71 sports a 13MP rear camera with phase detection auto-focus (PDAF) and a 5MP selfie camera which comes with an Artificial Intelligence (AI) enabled "Face Beauty" feature. Vivo says the camera is backed by AI for optimising photos. The front camera is also equipped with an AI Beauty feature that can identify gender, age, skin tone to enhance selfies. Along with Bluetooth 4.2 and WiFi, the phone comes with GPS/GLONASS support for locations services. Vivo Y1 comes with a 3360 mAh battery. Commenting on the announcement, Kenny Zheng, CMO, Vivo India said, "Vivo has always crafted its products keeping consumers preference at the core".
