By The Numbers: Westbrook Records 100th Triple-Double

With 12 games to play, Westbrook is averaging 25.3 points, 10.2 assists and 9.6 rebounds per game.

Westbrook has spent much of this year ramping up to his effort to become just the fourth player in National Basketball Association history to grab 100 or more triple-doubles for his career.

At this rate, he'll go by Kidd and Johnson in the next couple of seasons, having already become the third-fastest to reach the century mark behind Robertson (a mere 277 games) and Johnson (656 games).

"It's always insane for me, man, to go on the road and just see - not just fans cheering, but kids wearing my jersey", he said.

Westbrook didn't have the triple-double, yet. "So, to see that every time is always incredible for me, and I never take it for granted", added Westbrook. He finished with 32 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists to lead the Thunder past the Hawks on the second night of a back-to-back (he had a triple-double on the front end as well) to join some elite company in the 100 triple-double club.

Russell Westbrook darted into the lane time and time again, hitting the shot, drawing a foul or finding an open teammate.

"All you see him display is the competitiveness, the never giving up", George said. That's what Russ is: a guy that's never gonna give up, and he's gonna play every possession. The Denver crowd (for some reason) cheered that night, too, by the way.

The Hawks dropped to 20-48. But George paid tribute to his point guard after the game. "It also speaks to how hard he plays". "It's three days until the game, three or four days, so I'll be all right".

Westbrook spoke after the game about the wonderful feat he accomplished. "With Grant playing the entire third quarter, the Thunder only allowed 8-of-22 shooting to the Hawks and only put Atlanta to the line twice after allowing 18 free throws attempts in the first half". "Just to be a part of something like that ... Only the Sacramento Kings (267), Los Angeles Lakers (258), Boston Celtics (203), Philadelphia 76ers (140), Golden State Warriors (128) and Brooklyn Nets (104) have more than Westbrook's 100". "It's something that we should all appreciate, moments like this, and appreciate what we have and who we have".
