Mara Justine, a 16-year-old from Galloway Township, has made it through the preliminary auditions on "American Idol". Bryan queried, to which Perry yelped, "I don't even know what the hell you're talking about!"

Perry kept up with flirtatious attitude with a couple of other contestants who made it through to Hollywood, including one hopeful named William Casanova who said he "sells shoes to attractive women".

The auditioner, Michelle, encouraged Katy and other judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie to get up and dance.

"I got full-body chills. I haven't met anyone from the 2000s!" "I think in the past there was some of that and maybe taking advantage of people..."

"I'm the best dancer ever", Perry quipped. As expected, pop star Katy Perry with her glamor quotient, fabulous fashionable outings, and her cool attitude has taken the reality show notches up.

Rissa Watson auditioned next with "When We Were Young" by Adele and played guitar. Following Francisco's audition, he successfully received a golden ticket to Hollywood, securing his spot for the next round in the competition. They all rewarded him with three "yeses" for Hollywood. He sings a nice version of Donny Hathaway's "A Song for You". That brought Katy to tell him that he can come hang out with her anytime. Katy had an obvious crush on Trevor, to the point she had to leave the room because he looked "so hot". After telling pieces of his heartbreaking story, Francisco sat down to perform an acoustic rendition of Stevie Wonder's "Isn't She Lovely". They all got golden tickets.

But when it came down to twerking, it didn't go quite so well for Katy. He auditions with "It's a Man's World", and has a unique sound to his voice.

When David Francisco popped into the American Idol audition room, the judges didn't know what to expect after he admitted that he'd been hit by a vehicle and lost all function of his legs after he moved to Nashville to pursue his music dreams. After he sang "Don't You Worry Child" by Swedish House Mafia, all three judges gave him a return trip to Hollywood, and Lionel hugged him. Luke and Lionel teased Katy about love being "so close". Katy declared he could be "top 10", and called him "the best male singer we've seen so far".
