The snow is expected to return this weekend.
The Met Office has issued yellow weather warnings between Friday, March 16, and Sunday, March 18, in preparation for snow and ice.
Mr Bowles told Metro.co.uk: 'It's not likely to be anything like as bad as two weeks ago, but we could see between 2cm and 5cm of snow'.
Forecasters are predicting that rain will turn to snow on higher ground across much of the east of the United Kingdom on Friday evening and into Saturday.

'As far as the snow is concerned, we think it is going to be mainly in the south east part of the country'.
"There has been talk of snow as well, and at this stage Sunday is the most likely day for snow showers".
