After a miserable few years punctuated by four back surgeries, Woods has gradually returned to form in 2018 and generated huge excitement last time out on his way to a second-place finish at the Valspar Championship.

Orlando plays host to the PGA Tour this week as the Arnold Palmer Invitational begins Thursday at Bay Hill Club & Lodge.

He's also scorching up the world rankings, and after moving up 239 places to 149th this week (he was a career-low 970th in July last year), he could rise as high as 44th with a win this week and edge even closer to a place on Jim Furyk's US Ryder Cup team.

"The least amount of pain I felt was hitting a driver".

"Dude, if I knew I would tell you", he said, shrugging his shoulders.

Tiger Woods' rapid clubhead speed have many scratching their heads - including the 42-year-old. "If you would have asked me at the Presidents Cup a year ago [whether I would play on Tour again], I didn't know". I especially like him in cash games because his $7,500 price tag gives you a solid cut-maker with upside and saves some salary cap space for other high-end options.

As of Monday, Woods was CG Technology's largest liability in the book's Masters odds.

The 14-time major champion is continuing his build-up to a potential first Masters appearance in three years at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, and he got up early to practice on Wednesday.

Tiger Woods: He's the bookies favourite at the moment, and after following his T12 at the Honda Classic with a chance to force a play-off on the 72nd hole of the Valspar Championship, there's a feeling he's got a chance to win his 80th PGA Tour title this week.

"Just keep getting better". "The grain goes from more dead across as it comes across, the first part of my putt then it switches to down and when it switches to down, I just kept telling myself just putt to the picture, keep putting to the picture and I did, putted to the picture".

"Each and every week I've learned from what I've done and more importantly, I'm learning my body". I'm learning how I can swing it and not swing it. these are all things that are new.

"I think that you're starting to see the fruits of that now of the little tweaks I've made and I'm excited about it".

"[It's been] very frustrating, because I love playing Augusta National".

"I've got to do some serious homework though and really get to know and get the feel of how this golf course is playing this particular year, considering I haven't played here in five years!"
