During E3 2017, Yannis Mallat, CEO of Ubisoft Montreal had claimed that the company was in plans to revive the Splinter Cell game series again. The action-stealth game garnered quite the following, and managed to spawn a series of sequels. Fans maybe hoping that Ubisoft is planning a big E3 reveal for the title but, only time will tell.

With that being said, take it with a grain of salt until Ubiosft officially announces the game as this could very well be a hoax.

Fans of the Splinter Cell franchise have been waiting for another entry in the series following the launch of Splinter Cell Blacklist and it seems that we might be getting a new Splinter Cell game this year if the Amazon's listing for Splinter Cell 2018 is to be believed.

To recall, there have been previous reports that a new Splinter game is in the making.

Michael Ironside, who plays the character of Sam Fisher from the series Splinter Cell, was at Ubisoft in 2016, and had reported that work on a new Splinter Cell was on.

A page called Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell 2018 appeared on the Canadian website of the well-known retailer Amazon, a placeholder that does not reveal anything about the game but actually speculates the existence of a new Splinter Cell. "We are not forgetting Splinter Cell". There was no other information but it still says Ubisoft is the publisher and the 2018 date means we could see the game come out sometime later this year. What do you think about the return of the franchise of Splinter Cell?
