Margot Robbie officially in talks for Tarantino Tate film

Margot Robbie is in talks to play the Sharon Tate in Quentin Tarantino's upcoming film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Rumours that Robbie will star in Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood have been swirling for a while, with new reports she has been offered the role. And stay tuned for updates. She will portray slain actress Sharon Tate (Valley of the Dolls).

DiCaprio will play Rick Dalton, a fictional fading Western TV star, while Pitt will play Cliff Booth, Dalton's "longtime stunt double", according to Deadline. Both are trying to make it in Hollywood. The horrific murder of Sharon Tate (Rick's neighbor in the film) and four of her friends by Charles Manson's cult of followers serves as a backdrop to the main story. "And I couldn't be happier about the dynamic teaming of DiCaprio and Pitt as Rick and Cliff". Robbie, who's coming off her Oscar-nominated turn in the title role of "I, Tonya", will join Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio in "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood".

Robbie was on the initial shortlist of cast members Tarantino had reportedly approached for the film, including Pitt and DiCaprio (the only official names announced), Samuel L. Jackson, Tom Cruise, and Jennifer Lawrence. It's the first film Tarantino will shoot since severing ties with the Weinstein Company.

Sony Pictures has dated the film for n August 9, 2019 release worldwide, which marks the 50th anniversary of Tate's murder.
