Rio de Janeiro, March 13: In the absence of injured star Neymar, Brazil's national football team coach Tite has announced a squad with some surprises, including forward Willian Jose, for upcoming friendlies against Germany and Russian Federation.

Willian Jose, a 26-year-old striker, was rewarded for his good season at Spanish side Real Sociedad with his first call up to the national side.

Tite acknowledged that the 25-man list does not include several players who are likely to be part of the final squad for this year's FIFA World Cup.

"I want to give all the athletes opportunities right up until the end", coach Tite told a press conference on Monday. It's the final set of matches for national teams before this summer's 2018 World Cup.

However, uncapped trio Valencia goalkeeper Neto, Besiktas midfielder Anderson Talisca and Real Sociedad forward Willian Jose will all get a chance to make their debut in the upcoming worldwide friendlies.

These will be Brazil's last friendlies until the provisional World Cup squad is selected in May.

Sao Paulo defender Rodrigo Caio and Germio's Pedro Geromel have also re-joined the group as Monaco's Jemerson misses out.

The Seleção play Russian Federation in Moscow on Friday, 23 rd March, before travelling to Berlin to face Germany on Tuesday, 27 th March. Find us on Facebook too!
