As we reported earlier on the site, former WWE Champion Jeff Hardy was arrested on Saturday night for Driving While Impaired after an accident on Concord Parkway in Concord, NC.
WWE have finally spoken up about the incident and have released a statement about Hardy's arrest. However, we do know that Hardy did $8,000 in damages to his Cadillac CTS-V and rack up an additional $5,000 for damaging almost 105 feet of guardrail.
Hardy's crash and arrest come just days after he was reportedly cleared to return to action in the WWE following six months on the sidelines because of a shoulder surgery. Hardy's license has been suspended, and his first court date is now set for April 16th.
More details regarding the arrest came from CBS Sports and revealed that Hardy was driving northbound on Concord Parkway when he allegedly ran off the runway and struck a guardrail before the vehicle spun and stopped in the middle of the right northbound lane.
Hardy had reportedly been given the OK to get back into the ring following surgery he had previous year.
Another report from TMZ revealed that Hardy submitted to a breath test which revealed that he was three times over the legal limit.
WWE superstar Jeff Hardy has been arrested for driving while intoxicated. His brother Matt has stayed busy with his Woken character in his absence, and filmed the Ultimate Deletion last week, though there's no word on whether or not Jeff was involved. It remains to be seen whether WWE has plans for Jeff at WrestleMania, expects to bring him back after the year's biggest show, or will react one way or another to this latest development. "We are investigating the matter and awaiting information from local law enforcement officials".
