Xioami has acknowledged this problem and is conducting an experiment by removing the CoD option on the Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro sale on March 7. The Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus, which landed earlier this year, sported rather thin bezels, while Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro chose to follow that very same trend.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro is quite affordable, but despite that, it offers great performance, sturdy build, big battery and it looks nice as well. Most Xiaomi fans are displeased by this deficiency of stock and are taking to Twitter to gripe about the lack of stocks.

While the 3GB variant of Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is priced at Rs 9,999 for the 32GB version, a much powerful 4GB variant of Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is expected to cost you around Rs 11,999.

As is with majority of the sales of Xiaomi products, the Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro went out of stocks nearly instantly after the sale kicked off, as a result of which many couldn't buy these smartphones.

On the other hand, the Redmi 5 Plus sports a 5.99-inch full-HD+ display with a 1080x2160 pixels resolution. At its heart, the device employs an octa-core Snapdragon 625 SoC paired with Adreno 506 graphics unit, 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB storage space. It comes with a 12-megapixel primary camera and a 5-megapixel secondary camera with LED flash. On the connectivity front, the phone features 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS, dual-SIM, and micro USB port. A 4000mAh battery with fast charging backs the device. The 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant is priced at ₹11,999. The rear panel on the Redmi Note 5 Pro houses a fingerprint sensor, which is placed right below the camera sensor.

Note 5 Pro has a dual-camera setup, making it first smartphone under Redmi series to feature dual rear cameras. For selfies, it comes with a 5 Megapixel front camera with LED flash.
