The new variant will be sold exclusively via Flipkart and will go on sale starting February 20. The recommended best buy price of the smartphone is Rs 16,999, which also puts it directly in competition with the recently launched Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro (6GB RAM) variant. It is priced at Rs. 16,999, whereas the original model retails for Rs. 14,999.
Bear in mind, though, that this new model is not the Nokia 6 (2018) that we recently reported would be coming to India soon, but is just the 4GB RAM variant of the 2017 Nokia 6 that was unveiled in China way back in January a year ago.
All the other aspects of the device remain the same, except for the RAM and internal storage part. The Nokia 6 ships with Android Nougat, but the brand has already rolled out Android 8.0 Oreo update for the smartphone.
Notably, this is a new variant of last year's smartphone and should not be confused with the Nokia 6 (2018), which comes with a Snapdragon 630 SoC, and was launched by the Finnish company in January this year.
As an introductory launch offer, Flipakart will be offering extra Rs 2,000 off on exchange of an older device for the new Nokia 6.
It sports a 5.5-inch full HD with display a screen resolution of 1,920×1,080 pixels. Similar to the 3GB variant, the Nokia 6 features a 16-megapixel rear camera with PDAF, a f/2.0 aperture, a 1-micron pixel sensor, and dual-tone LED flash. There is also an 8MP front-facing camera with 84-degree wide angle lens and f/2.0 aperture. Everything runs on a 3000 mAh sealed battery, with support for USB OTG via micro USB port.
Meanwhile, sensors on board the smartphone include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, magnetometer, and proximity sensor.
The Nokia 6 comes with a metal unibody with impressive structural quality.
