Iranian President Rouhani arrives in Hyderabad on 3 day visit to India

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani will arrive here this evening as part of his three-day India visit during which the two countries will discuss regional and global issues of mutual interest. "He will land in Hyderabad on Thursday evening".

Apart from this He will address a Muslim congregation at the Mecca Masjid after Friday prayers at the historic Hyderabad mosque on Friday.

President Hassan Rouhani said that officials of the two countries will examine development of relations in areas like economy, culture, communications and information technology, healthcare, industry and agriculture, IRNA news agency reported February 15.

Previously in an exclusive interview with BW Businessworld, Afghanistan's Ambassador to India, Dr. Shaida Abdali said, "India, Afghanistan, and Iran worked together for nearly 13 years before realizing the life-changing initiative".

This is the second time that the Rouhani will be visiting Hyderabad, and the first visit after assuming charge as the President in 2013. He will call on President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He is also scheduled to visit the Salar Jung Museum on Friday. Several agreements are also expected to be signed.

'Recently, the developed phase of Shahid Beheshti Port in Chabahar was opened in presence of officials from 17 countries, ' he said, adding that the capacity of the port will be raised to 8.5 million tons in the next phases.

He went on to say one of the main bilateral issues between Iran and India is transit system which will be discussed during his visit to India.

In this visit, President Rouhani is accompanied by a number of Iranian officials including Vice-President for Economic Affairs, Mohammad Nahavandian, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh and many others.
