Indian actress Priya Varrier faces FIR for 'hurting Muslim sentiments'

According to Falaknuma Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP) Syed Faiyaz, "The youth said the song's lyrics allegedly hurt the sentiments of Muslims".

Ever since Priya Prakash Varrier winked and flaunted her naughty smile in the song "Manikya Malaraya" in her debut film, "Oru Adaar Love", Internet is crushing over her and how.

Businessman Zaheer Ali Khan who also rushed to the police with his complaint demanding that either the song be removed from the film or the lyrics be changed.

The complaint was lodged by Zaheer Ali Khan and Muqeeth Khan, residents of Falaknuma in Hyderabad.

Case has been registered under IPC Section 295A (hurting religious sentiments) has been registered against the film's director Omar Lulu.

Success comes with a price and it seems like the team of "Oru Adaar Love" will have to learn this the hard way.

The 18 year old internet sensation, Priya Prakash Varrier has become crazily viral. It was a clip taken from the song "Manikya Malaraya Poovi" where Priya got the big thumbs up from the viewers for her expressions.

"The police are meticulously investigating the case and appropriate action would be taken against the concerned as per the facts and law", the DCP said.

The filmmaker said he was receiving huge support from across Kerala and was preparing for a June release. The actor, Roshan Abdul is being equally loved by female fans across India and even in neighboring countries. "We will proceed based on their opinion..."

Varrier also said that she was very excited about the movie and thankful for the love and support showered at her.

Varrier, however, said she did not know how to react to the whole controversy. "But we will fight for protection of our religious sentiments through legal means". Since, people were too much into the Valentine's Day mood, Priya Prakash soon became the heart throb of the nation.
