Kelly Clarkson says she's not against spanking to discipline kids

While speaking to Us at the Golden Globes on Sunday, January 7, Clarkson added that she's excited to help other singers launch their careers.

Clarkson says disciplining her tots can be awkward when she is outside the home because of other people's mixed views on smacking.

"The Voice, literally, it's nearly full circle for me how I started singing", Clarkson, who kickstarted her career on Idol, exclusively told Us Weekly at the Television Critics Association in Pasadena, California, on Tuesday, January 9. I'm like, 'Hi, I'm gonna spank you on your bottom if you don't stop right now. I represent those people in this industry.

"I probably won't because I'm going, to be honest with you, I have four children, so it's hard enough in my household because my husband also manages Blake".

Clarkson said she believes there is a "fine line", when it comes to spanking, but told the Rochester-based radio station that "I do believe in spanking, so you might catch me spanking my child at the zoo".

Kelly Clarkson has defended her decision to use smacking as a method of discipline for her two kids. "I just mean a spanking".

"My parents spanked me, I did fine in life and I feel fine about it", she said.

Or at least Kelly Clarkson is. "I was like, 'I love y'all too!'"

After revealing earlier this week that she advocates parents spanking their children when they need a talking to, Kelly Clarkson was hit with a wave of hate on social media, blasting her for being a "lazy" and "ignorant" parent. It's so hard to not drink your punch, and I think a lot of people fall prey to that ...

"Good for her, parents today do not discipline their kinds and that's why there are a bunch of entitled brats running around the world who think they can get away with anything", another reader wrote. "They teach me", she continued. The "Breakaway" singer is now under fire from social media users after she revealed that she spanks her kids.
