Israel Approves Hundreds of New West Bank Settlement Houses

Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman previous year said Israel plans to demolish a chunk of Susiya, a small village near Hebron, and Khan al-Ahmar, a Bedouin village near the West Bank settlement of Maale Adumim, parallel to plans to demolish unauthorized West Bank Jewish settlements. The Palestinians also see them as symbolically important after decades of yearning for elusive statehood and struggle against Israel's occupation.

The Palestinians want these areas - along with the Gaza Strip - for the establishment of a future Palestinian state.
